Manual Handling Training – Course Information
Duration: Half Day (Maximum 12 Delegates)
Attendees: Any member of staff who is involved with lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying of equipment or materials as part of their working tasks.
Aims: To enable delegates to carry out our manual handling techniques correctly to prevent injury.
By the end of the course the delegate will be able to:
- Define Manual Handling
- Identify the health problems from poor manual handling
- State what causes the problem
- List what to check for prior to moving an object
- Demonstrate correct manual handling techniques

Testing: A written examination along with a practical examination will be required to pass this course
Certification: An in house Certificate of Training will be issued.
Abrasive Wheel Training – Course Information
Duration: Half Day (Maximum 12 Delegates)
Attendees: Any member of staff who is involved in the use of abrasive wheels as part of their working tasks.
Aims: To enable delegates to select, mount and use abrasive wheels safely.
Contents:
- Hazards arising from use and precautions
- The Requirements of the Regulations
- Methods of Marking as to Type and Speed
- Methods of Storage, Handling and Transporting Wheels
- Methods of Testing and Inspection for Damage
- Function of all components and the correct method of mounting and balancing
- Methods of Dressing an Abrasive Wheel
- The Adjustment of the Rest
Testing: A written examination along with a practical examination will be required to pass this course
Certification: An In-house Certificate of Training will be issued.
Safety Harness Training – Course Information
Duration: Half Day (Maximum 12 Delegates)
Attendees: Any member of staff who is involved with harnesses.
Aims: To ensure the understanding in the methods of safe use and inspection of safety harnesses.
Objectives: By the end of the course the delegate will be able to use, inspect and ascertain fit for purpose and made aware of the need to carry out a mandatory record inspection in line with current legislation.

Hop-ups and Handrails Training – Course Information
Duration: Half Day Workshop (Maximum 12 Delegates)
Attendees: Any member of staff who is involved with altering Hop-Up and Handrails on System Scaffolding.
Aims: To ensure an understanding in the methods of safe use of hop-ups and handrails on a system scaffold.
Objectives: To enable attendees to erect, alter, dismantle Hop-Ups, Tie Bars (if applicable), Boards, from behind the safety of a guardrail.
